Captain Cookie & The Milkman Opens in Times Square

Offers $1 cookies all day November 18 for grand opening, introduces new Fall flavor to encourage New Yorkers to Save the World One Cookie at a Time

Captain Cookie & The Milkman, a new dessert concept in New York City, opens its second store, this time in the heart of Times Square, and invites New Yorkers on its mission to Save the World One Cookie at a Time. All cookies, including the new white chocolate cranberry flavor, are only $1 on grand opening day. The store, which is located at 234 West 42nd Street, will grand open at 11 am on Friday, November 18th. Funds raised throughout the day will benefit the nearby De La Salle Academy. In addition to the special discount, free cookies and goodie bags will be given to the first 100 kids who will join the celebration starting at 3 pm.

Owner Juliann Francis says she and her husband and Captain Cookie founder Kirk Francis are very excited to be bringing Captain Cookie & the Milkman to Times Square. “It’s an amazing opportunity to bring a smile to many more faces on a daily basis by sharing our made-from-scratch cookies paired with terrific local milk and ice cream. We’re hoping this location will help us do a lot more toward our mission of saving the world one cookie at a time, and we can’t wait for New Yorkers and visitors to NYC alike to join us in that!”

Dr. Angel R. Gonzalez, Head of School at De La Salle Academy on 43rd Street said, “We are touched by the support of Neil Hershman and the Francis family,” and added, “We are delighted to connect two entities in Times Square that share a passion for social change.”

Owner Neil Hershman and his team are looking forward to raising funds for the kids of New York City, who they consider leaders and heroes of tomorrow. Neil said, “it will be great to see New Yorkers join us, as it is the season of giving.”

“The Times Square Alliance is thrilled that Neil Hershman and his team have expanded their footprint in Times Square with Captain Cookie & The Milkman on 42nd Street,” said Tom Harris, President of the Times Square Alliance. “It is this kind of confidence in our district from a business owner and team who opened in Times Square during the pandemic that really exemplifies the resilience and resolve of Times Square. I can’t wait to taste their new holiday flavors.”

The team at Captain Cookie & The Milkman NYC will announce new seasonal flavors every month on  Instagram and Facebook starting December 1, 2022. They are also looking forward to seeing everyone at the grand opening on November 18th. Our Mission: Saving the World One Cookie at a Time!
Captain Cookie Owners Juliann and Kirk Francis believe that with great cookies comes great responsibility. A large portion of Captain Cookie’s profits has been and always will be used as a force for good. Captain Cookie proudly supports efforts to end hunger including local food banks and No Kid Hungry and helps raise funds to support local schools and community organizations. We want our customers and employees to know that each member of the Captain Cookie community is helping save the world one cookie at a time!

Our Story:
Kirk made his first cookie at age four and has been obsessed ever since. His recipe for chocolate chip cookies is the result of over three decades of tinkering and testing. While on the quest for perfection, he also developed a handful of knockout recipes for the cookies featured on our menu. To say these cookies are made from scratch is an understatement. Years of cookie-baking and the finest ingredients have gone into making your cookie the best you’ve ever had. We pair those cookies with super premium local ice cream and milk for top-notch treats: our made-to-order ice cream sandwiches are not to be missed!

From DC to NYC:
Captain Cookie started in 2012 with one food truck, roaming around the DC and serving awesome cookies and ice cream sandwiches. Thanks to the support of early cookie monsters, Kirk and Juliann added trucks and built our flagship store in DC next to George Washington University. It’s there that our New York story began, as then-student Neil Hershman took a liking to Captain Cookie. After graduating, Neil relocated to NYC and ended up getting into the food industry. In looking to expand awesome snack options for hungry New Yorkers, he remembered the cookies he loved at GW. Juliann and Kirk were delighted to have a fan who knows and loves New York bring Captain Cookie to the city.
